Dublin, Ireland — Ambassador Khadija Ossoble Ali met with Mr. Michael Gaffey, Director-General at Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, for discussions aimed at further strengthening relations between Somalia and Ireland.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on expanding the 🇸🇴🇮🇪 partnership beyond traditional development cooperation. Discussions highlighted opportunities for deeper engagement in areas including peacebuilding, climate resilience, trade and investment.
Ambassador Khadija expressed Somalia’s appreciation for Ireland’s longstanding support to Somalia and acknowledged Ireland’s principled commitment to multilateralism and international law.
Both sides welcomed continued engagement and the opportunity to further broaden cooperation between Somalia and Ireland in areas of shared interest.
